SUMMARY:wetheuncivilised\, A Life Story
DESCRIPTION:10 years ago\, Pete and Lily made an ecological documentary. They filmed\, directed\, edited then toured the film with a solar cinema with over 100 screenings across the UK. wetheuncivilised\, A Life Story\, went on to win several ecological documentary awards. Today that vision is taking root just outside Abergavenny\, as a regenerative\, off-grid permaculture farm\, Bryn Cynefin\, designed within Wales’ pioneering One Planet Development framework and the 2015 Future Generations Act (Wales). \nABOUT THE FILM \nDisillusioned by a story of consumption and alienation\, a newly married couple are called to action. Carrying with them their unborn child\, they embark on a year-long journey around the UK in search of the seeds of a different story\, and with it hope for the future. \nWe join Pete and Lily on an intimate and life-changing journey as they confront the stark reality of our times\, and discover a hidden culture of connection and belonging. \nA Life Story tells a tale of both deep grief and inspired hope\, unearthing the structures that perpetuate ecological destruction\, whilst providing a soulful exploration of our humanity and our yearning to live in relationship to one another and the natural world. \nThe film features conversations with grassroots activists and leading figures of the UK ecological movement\, including:  Satish Kumar (editor ‘The Ecologist’)\, Polly Higgins (ecocide lawyer)\, Bruce Parry (explorer and filmmaker)\, Martin Shaw (School of Myth)\, Jewels Wingfield (ecofeminist)\, Mac Macartney (Embercombe)\, Simon Fairlie (editor ‘The Land’)\, Peter Owen Jones (clergyman and presenter)\, Glennie Kindred (author and artist)\, and the late Patrick Whitefield (permaculturist). \n“ A stunning and sensitive journey into\necology\, humanity and spirituality.”\nThe Cube Cinema\, Bristol \n“ Moving… Tragic… Inspiring. ”\nBruce Parry\, Film Maker \n“Once in a while a film comes along that has profound impact –\nthis is a delicious taste of what can be.”\nPolly Higgins \nALL FUNDS RAISED GO TO OUR CROWDFUNDER – Help us build a barn – the heart of our regenerative permaculture farm growing food\, skills and community resilience for future generations. \nThis isn’t about preparing for some distant future. It’s about creating practical solutions TODAY. \nWe’re raising £25\,000 to build a central agricultural barn and processing space — an essential hub that will allow us to grow\, process and store food\, create land-based produce\, share skills and resources and support a resilient local economy as part of our CIC\, Cynefin Kitchen. \nhttps://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/grow-a-resilient-future-at-bryn-cynefin \n\n\nADDIOTIONAL INFO: \nCHILDREN:\nThe film approaches big topics\, so may not be appropriate for children under 12. \nIf childcare is an issue\, please let us know so we can explore the idea of a possible solution onsite.\n\nPlease message Lily via whatsapp: 07832258877
