SUMMARY:SOLD OUT! Poetry\, Myth\, and Paint
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Poetry Upstairs\, at The Melville Centre! \n– please join us on Tuesday 10th May 7 – 9 pm for the inaugural event… We are now taking names for the reserve list as we are full. \n  \nRic Hool has 10 collections of published poetry and will be reading from his new collection\, Personal Archaeology    He was the Welsh Academy poet for the Abergavenny Food Festival 2009\, also Academy poet representative for the London South Bank London Global Poetry System 2009. \nHis poetic themes are the psychological and geographical impact of place\, time and space on the human experience. Water is a totem\, poured from place to place and from experience to experience: an agent of informing. \n  \n  \nFrank Olding writes in Welsh\, reads his work in both English and Welsh. \nFrank was poet in residence at the Art Exhibition of the National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale in 2010 and is a member of the Gorsedd of Bards. He was honoured with an Ovate at the 2011 Eisteddfod in recognition of his services to Wales. \nFrank Olding’s new collection of poems Eilun\, published by Gwasg y Bwthyn\, is rooted deeply in the magical and suggestive relationships between history and mythology. \n  \nFrank and Ric will read in Welsh and English from Containing Multitudes\, a new rendition of the Welsh myth\, Ceridwen & Gwion Bach\, inspired by a series of paintings by artist\, Tim Rossiter. \n  \nTo register your place (you must book in advance) please send your name\, contact telephone number and email to Emma at info@melvillecentre.org.uk \, or call Emma on 01873 853167\, and then pay on the door on the night (£5).
