We are always seeking new members of our Volunteer Team, who we treasure and who are very much appreciated! On Saturday 30th April, 11am - 1pm, we are holding a Coffee Morning for anyone interested about finding out more. If you would like to join one [...]

THANK YOU ARTS COUNCIL OF WALES

2021-11-29T10:32:18+00:00

This summer, here at the Melville we were really pleased to be successful in our application  to the Arts Council for Wales for Cultural Recovery funding. We've done marvels with it:  been able to re-decorate the main corridor,  & the loos, thank goodness, we've re carpeted everywhere and installed the drama library in the built in  Victorian shelving in Meeting Room2. We've also had help  to totally reorganise the props sheds, so much so that we were able to send a 'sea set', complete with lobster pots, anchors, nets, down to the WMC last week   for the schools' 'Powerful Interventions' pop ups at the Festival of [...]

2020-07-13T08:08:39+01:00

The Melville Centre hosts the Blodeuo Project The Melville Centre hosts the Blodeuo Project which came together in Autumn 2018. The Arts Council of Wales kindly sponsored a  period of action research  in which over 20 individuals participated on a weekly basis in  our studio theatre. A diverse ability drama group took shape and further Arts Council of Wales funding, with  committed local support and  four excellent  facilitators, has  enabled  good work to proceed. The Project takes its name from the drama group’s first performance which told the ancient Welsh story of Blodeuwedd. Somewhere near Castell Mur, overlooking Trawsfynydd, [...]
