Richard Gwyn will be in conversation with poet and broadcaster Clare Potter. Tuesday 13th January @ 7pm Melville Theatre Cafe/bar. Some Miraculous Promised Land is the story of James Dickson Innes (1887-1914) — one of the most original and outstanding of British artists, whose star shone briefly in the years before World War One. Richard Gwyn's new book follows in the footsteps of the young painter across Wales, London and Paris to the French Pyrenees, southern Spain and Morocco, and chronicles Dick Innes' love affair with Euphemia Lamb and his losing battle with tuberculosis.
