Zoe Gilby Quartet

The Melville Theatre The Melville Centre, Pen-y-Pound, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, United Kingdom

This will be Zoe Gilby’s third visit to Black Mountain Jazz - the first being in 2014 when she performed at the wall2wall Jazz Festival on a windy outdoor stage. We are always delighted to welcome her back, as she continues to make her distinctive mark on today’s music scene. Her compelling original compositions are written with her husband, double bassist Andy Champion. This promises to be a highly enjoyable and not-to-be-missed event. The quality of the singing and playing was excellent throughout, as was the original song writing. Jazz Mann’s review of the Zoe Gilby Trio’s performance at our wall2wall [...]

Formed in 2014 improvising duo Charlie Beresford (acoustic guitar/voice) and Sonia Hammond (cello) both herald from the Welsh Marches, a wild landscape that has left a deep imprint on the sounds they make. Their first album [...]

Based on the true life experiences of the writer, this [...]
